			Pizza Base
- 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
Cheeses
- 1 cup fresh ricotta cheese
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Toppings and Garnishes
- 4 oz thinly sliced prosciutto
- 2 tbsp hot honey
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven as it heats up to ensure a crisp crust.
- Prepare Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to about 12 inches in diameter, making sure the thickness is even for uniform cooking.
- Add Cheese Layers: Spread the fresh ricotta cheese evenly over the rolled-out dough. Then sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese generously on top of the ricotta.
- Top with Prosciutto: Arrange thin slices of prosciutto evenly across the surface of the cheese layer.
- Drizzle Olive Oil and Bake: Lightly drizzle olive oil over the pizza. Place it in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust turns golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
- Finish and Garnish: Remove the pizza from the oven and drizzle hot honey over the top for a sweet and spicy kick. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Using a pizza stone helps achieve a crispier crust, but a baking sheet works well too.
- Adjust the amount of hot honey according to your spice preference.
- Prosciutto is best added before baking, but can also be added after if you prefer it less cooked.
- Let the pizza cool for a couple of minutes before slicing to allow the cheese to set slightly.
