Easy to prepare and sure to impress, they’re ideal for parties or cozy gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Mushrooms

  • 20 large white button mushrooms, stems removed and finely chopped

Filling

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup plain bread crumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp white cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare Mushrooms: Clean the mushroom caps carefully and set them aside. Finely chop the mushroom stems for the filling.
  3. Sauté Filling Ingredients: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the chopped mushroom stems, minced garlic, and finely chopped onion. Sauté for 4–5 minutes until the mixture is softened and fragrant.
  4. Mix Filling: Stir in the bread crumbs, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Remove the skillet from the heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  5. Add Cheese and Parsley: Once cooled, mix in the shredded sharp white cheddar cheese, grated Parmesan, and chopped fresh parsley to complete the filling.
  6. Stuff Mushrooms: Spoon the filling into each mushroom cap, pressing down gently to pack the filling firmly inside.
  7. Bake: Arrange the stuffed mushrooms on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 18–20 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and the filling is golden and bubbly.
  8. Serve: Serve the stuffed mushrooms warm as a savory appetizer or party snack.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes to the filling.
  • These mushrooms can be prepped ahead of time and baked just before serving, making them ideal for parties.
