Ingredients
Scale
Slider Meat Mixture
- 1 white onion, diced
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 tablespoon burger seasoning
- ½ teaspoon salt
Toppings and Bread
- 6 slices American cheese
- 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls
Butter and Seasoning
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons everything bagel seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Meat Mixture: Set an oven rack in the center of your oven and preheat it to 375°F. Line a sheet pan with a sheet pan rack. In a bowl, combine the ground beef and pork. Sprinkle in the diced white onion, ½ teaspoon salt, and 1 tablespoon burger seasoning. Lightly mix everything until evenly incorporated.
- Form and Bake the Patty: Lay a sheet of parchment paper on your work surface. Press the mixed meat onto the parchment paper forming an 8×12-inch rectangle. Transfer the parchment paper with the meat onto the sheet pan rack. Cover the meat with another sheet of parchment paper and place a second sheet pan on top to press it evenly. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until the internal temperature of the meat reaches 150°F.
- Prepare the Rolls: While the meat bakes, slice the Hawaiian rolls in half lengthwise. Brush the cut sides of the rolls with 2 tablespoons of melted butter to add flavor and aid in toasting during the final bake.
- Assemble the Sliders: After the 20 minutes and once the meat reaches 150°F, carefully remove the top sheet pan, then the sheet pan holding the meat from the oven. Remove the top parchment layer to expose the large meat patty. Use two large spatulas to carefully transfer the meat patty onto the bottom halves of the rolls. Layer evenly with the 6 slices of American cheese in a single layer. Place the top halves of the rolls on the meat and cheese. Brush the tops with the remaining 2 tablespoons of melted butter and sprinkle with 2 teaspoons of everything bagel seasoning.
- Final Bake: Return the assembled sliders to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the bread is toasted and the cheese is fully melted.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes. Slice the full slider into 6 individual sliders, arrange on a platter, and serve warm for best enjoyment.
Notes
- Using the sheet pan rack prevents the meat from cooking in its juices and helps it cook evenly on all sides.
- Pressing the meat firmly and using parchment with a second pan on top helps create a uniform patty without needing to handle it extensively.
- Make sure the meat reaches an internal temperature of 150°F to ensure it is safely cooked.
- Everything bagel seasoning adds a great savory crunch and flavor, but you can substitute with sesame seeds or omit if preferred.
- Hawaiian rolls provide a subtle sweetness that complements the savory meat and cheese well.
- Allow the sliders to cool slightly after baking to make slicing easier and prevent cheese from oozing too much.
