Description

Indulge in this delicious and easy-to-make Tomato Avocado Melt for a satisfying meal that’s perfect for lunch or a light dinner. With the creamy avocado, juicy tomato, and melted cheese, every bite is a burst of flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Bread:

  • 4 slices of whole grain or sourdough bread

Fillings:

  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: fresh basil leaves, red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the skillet: Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. Prepare the bread: Lightly brush one side of each bread slice with olive oil or butter.
  3. Assemble: Place two bread slices, oiled side down, on the skillet. Layer with avocado, tomato, cheese, and optional basil or red pepper flakes. Season with salt and pepper. Top with the remaining bread slices, oiled side up.
  4. Cook: Cook for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently, until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  5. Serve: Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try spreading pesto or Dijon mustard inside the bread.
  • A panini press can also be used for a perfectly crisp sandwich.
