Ingredients
Scale
Overnight Oats
- ½ cup rolled oats
- ½ cup brewed coffee (cooled)
- ½ cup milk of choice (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1–2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Yogurt Mixture
- ¼ cup plain Greek yogurt or mascarpone cheese
- 1 tbsp cream cheese (optional)
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar (optional)
Garnish
- ½ tsp unsweetened cocoa powder (for dusting)
- Dark chocolate shavings (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Mix Oats and Liquids: In a bowl, combine rolled oats, brewed coffee, milk, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Stir until well mixed, then let it sit for 5 minutes to begin absorbing the liquid.
- Prepare Yogurt Mixture: In a separate bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt or mascarpone, cream cheese if using, and powdered sugar until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Layer the Mixtures: Using a jar or glass, alternately layer the oats mixture and the creamy yogurt mixture, starting with the oats at the bottom and then a layer of the yogurt mixture; repeat the layering once more.
- Add Garnish: Dust the top layer with cocoa powder. For an extra tiramisu touch, sprinkle dark chocolate shavings over the cocoa powder.
- Refrigerate Overnight: Cover the jar or container tightly and place it in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours or overnight to allow the oats to soften fully and flavors to meld.
- Serve and Enjoy: Once chilled and set, enjoy this tiramisu-inspired overnight oats as a tasty breakfast or snack directly from the jar.
Notes
- You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup or honey according to your taste.
- For a dairy-free version, use plant-based milk and dairy-free yogurt alternatives.
- Using mascarpone cheese adds a richer, creamier texture if you want an authentic tiramisu flavor.
- Cream cheese and powdered sugar are optional; omit if you prefer a lighter or less sweet texture.
- Ensure the coffee is completely cooled before mixing with the oats to avoid cooking the oats prematurely.
