			Wet Ingredients
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter (smooth texture recommended)
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup (for binding)
Dry Ingredients
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for sweetness)
- 6 cups cornflakes (main ingredient for crunch)
Instructions
- Prepare the mixture: In a medium saucepan, combine the creamy peanut butter, light corn syrup, and granulated sugar over low heat. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and fully combined, ensuring there are no lumps.
- Add cornflakes: Remove the saucepan from heat and gently fold in the cornflakes, taking care not to crush them. Mix until all flakes are evenly coated with the peanut butter mixture.
- Transfer to pan: Line a 9×9 inch square baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Press the peanut butter and cornflake mixture firmly into the pan in an even layer.
- Chill: Place the pan in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or until the bars are fully set and firm to the touch.
- Cut and serve: Once chilled and set, remove the mixture from the pan using the parchment paper edges. Cut into 12 equal bars and serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to a week.
Notes
- Use smooth peanut butter for easier mixing and a creamier texture.
- Light corn syrup helps with binding and gives a nice chewy texture; you can substitute with honey if preferred, but the texture may vary.
- Press the mixture firmly into the pan to prevent crumbly bars.
- Store bars in an airtight container to maintain freshness and texture.
- For added flavor, consider mixing in mini chocolate chips or chopped nuts.
