Description

A savory and easy-to-make Breakfast Bake featuring flaky crescent roll crust, flavorful turkey sausage, eggs, and cheddar cheese. Perfect for a quick morning meal that serves a crowd.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent rolls (such as Pillsbury’s)

Filling

  • 1 package (9 ounces) pre-cooked turkey sausage links
  • 5 large eggs (beaten)
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 Tablespoons green bell pepper (diced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the breakfast dish.
  2. Prepare Baking Dish and Dough: Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish thoroughly. Press the refrigerated crescent roll dough firmly into the bottom of the dish and press it up about 1/2 inch along the sides to form a crust.
  3. Add Sausage: Slice the pre-cooked turkey sausage links into small bite-sized pieces. Evenly spread the sausage pieces over the crescent dough crust in the baking dish.
  4. Mix Egg Mixture: In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the beaten eggs, milk, diced green bell pepper, dried oregano, salt, and pepper until well combined. Pour this egg mixture evenly over the sausage layer in the baking dish.
  5. Top with Cheese and Bake: Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the egg mixture. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the eggs are fully cooked through.
  6. Cool and Serve: Remove the baking dish from the oven and allow it to cool for about 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious breakfast bake!

Notes

  • You can substitute turkey sausage with pork sausage if preferred.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables such as onions or mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • Use low-fat milk and reduced-fat cheese to make a lighter version of this bake.
  • This dish can be prepared the night before and baked fresh in the morning.
