- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Toppings:
- 6–8 fresh basil leaves (plus more for garnish)
- 6 ounces fresh mozzarella (sliced or torn)
- 1 can (3.75 oz) sardines in olive oil (drained)

Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.
- Prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, mix the crushed tomatoes with minced garlic, olive oil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Roll out the dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to about 12 inches in diameter. Transfer the dough to a piece of parchment paper.
- Assemble the pizza: Spread the tomato mixture over the dough, add torn mozzarella, basil leaves, and sardines. Drizzle with olive oil.
- Bake: Transfer the pizza to the hot stone or baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes until golden and bubbly.

Notes
- Choose high-quality sardines packed in olive oil for the best flavor.
- If you’re not a fan of whole sardines, lightly mash them and spread over the sauce for a more subtle taste.
