Description

This charming Ranch Snowman Cheeseball is a festive appetizer perfect for holiday gatherings. Made with creamy ranch-seasoned cream cheese and mozzarella, this no-cook recipe is shaped into a snowman and decorated with peppercorns and a carrot nose for a fun, edible winter decoration.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheeseball Mixture

  • 16 Ounces Cream Cheese, Softened
  • 1 Ounce Packet of Dry Ranch Seasoning Mix
  • 2 Cups Finely Shredded Mozzarella Cheese, Divided

Decoration

  • 1 Small Carrot
  • 10 Whole Black Peppercorns

Instructions

  1. Mix Ingredients: In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, 1 cup of shredded mozzarella, and the ranch seasoning mix. Stir until the mixture is smooth and evenly blended.
  2. Prepare Bottom Ball: Lay out a piece of plastic wrap. Place approximately 1.5 cups of the cream cheese mixture onto the plastic wrap, which will form the bottom part of the snowman.
  3. Prepare Top Ball: On a separate piece of plastic wrap, place the remaining cream cheese mixture, about 1 cup, which will form the smaller top ball of the snowman.
  4. Shape and Chill: With greased hands, roll each portion into smooth balls. Wrap tightly with the plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 2 hours, or until set and firm.
  5. Coat with Cheese: After chilling, unwrap the balls and roll each one in the remaining 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese until fully coated.
  6. Assemble Snowman: Stack the smaller cheeseball on top of the larger one gently to form the snowman’s body.
  7. Add Features: Use the whole black peppercorns to create eyes, buttons, and a mouth on the snowman. Cut a small bite-sized piece of carrot to form the nose and place it accordingly.

Notes

  • For easy shaping, grease your hands lightly with oil or cooking spray before forming the cheeseballs.
  • Refrigerating the cheeseballs is crucial to help them set and hold their shape when coated and stacked.
  • You can customize the seasoning mix according to your taste, but ranch seasoning works best for a classic flavor.
  • Serve with crackers, celery sticks, or bread slices as a delightful party appetizer.
  • Store leftover cheeseball covered in the refrigerator and consume within 3-4 days for best freshness.
