Description

This Quick and Easy Salmon Teriyaki recipe is a flavorful and healthy dish that is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner. The tender salmon fillets are marinated in a homemade teriyaki sauce and then pan-seared to perfection. Drizzle with extra sauce and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions for an impressive presentation.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon Teriyaki:

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger (grated)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (optional, for thickening)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • sliced green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Teriyaki Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
  2. Marinate the Salmon: Place salmon fillets in a shallow dish or resealable bag and pour half of the teriyaki sauce over them. Let marinate for 15 minutes.
  3. Make the Glaze: Pour the remaining sauce into a small saucepan and bring to a simmer. Add cornstarch slurry for thickening if desired.
  4. Cook the Salmon: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook salmon for 4-5 minutes per side until cooked through.
  5. Finish and Serve: Drizzle teriyaki glaze over the cooked salmon, garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, then serve hot.

Notes

  • Serve with steamed rice, stir-fried vegetables, or a simple cucumber salad.
  • For a gluten-free version, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
