Description

Enjoy a delicious and guilt-free twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak with these Keto Philly Cheesesteak Roll-Ups. Featuring savory ground beef, sautéed vegetables, and melted Monterey Jack cheese sheets as the wrap, this low-carb recipe is perfect for a quick and satisfying meal that fits perfectly into a keto lifestyle.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheese Sheets

  • 2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Filling

  • 16 ounces ground beef
  • ½ medium onion, diced
  • ½ green bell pepper, diced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: sliced mushrooms
  • Optional: red pepper flakes
  • Optional: provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prepare for baking the cheese sheets.
  2. Sauté the Filling: In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef along with diced onion and green bell pepper. Season with salt and pepper and continue cooking until the beef is browned and the vegetables are tender. If using, add optional sliced mushrooms or red pepper flakes to enhance flavor. Once cooked, set the filling aside.
  3. Bake the Cheese Sheets: On the parchment-lined baking sheet, arrange small mounds of shredded Monterey Jack cheese (about ⅓ cup each) spaced apart. Flatten each mound slightly and bake for 5 to 7 minutes until the cheese melts and edges turn golden brown.
  4. Assemble the Roll-Ups: Allow the baked cheese sheets to cool for about 30 seconds so they remain pliable but firm enough to handle. Place a spoonful of the ground beef mixture onto each cheese sheet. Optionally, add slices of provolone cheese on top of the filling before rolling. Carefully roll each cheese sheet tightly around the filling to form roll-ups.
  5. Serve: Arrange the roll-ups on a serving platter and serve warm. Garnish with fresh parsley or a keto-friendly sauce if desired for extra flavor.

Notes

  • If you prefer a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the beef mixture while cooking.
  • You can customize the filling by adding mushrooms or substituting other low-carb vegetables.
  • Use parchment paper to prevent cheese from sticking to the baking sheet for easy removal.
  • Make sure to let cheese sheets cool slightly after baking to make rolling easier without breaking.
  • These roll-ups are best served fresh but can be refrigerated and reheated gently.
