Ingredients
Scale
Biscuit Filling
- 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough
- ½ lb thinly sliced roast beef
- 8 slices provolone cheese, halved
Butter Topping
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp parsley flakes (optional)
Au Jus
- 1 packet au jus gravy mix, prepared
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
- Assemble Biscuits: Flatten each biscuit into a 4-inch circle. Place a portion of thinly sliced roast beef and a halved slice of provolone cheese in the center of the dough circle.
- Seal and Place: Fold the biscuit dough over the filling and pinch the edges firmly to seal. Place each biscuit seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet to keep them closed during baking.
- Butter and Bake: Mix the melted butter with garlic powder and use a brush to coat the tops of the sealed biscuits. Sprinkle parsley flakes on top if desired. Bake for 13 to 15 minutes, or until the biscuits turn golden brown and the cheese inside is melted.
- Serve with Au Jus: While the biscuits bake, prepare the au jus gravy according to packet instructions. Serve the warm French Dip Biscuits alongside the au jus for dipping, enhancing their rich flavor and moist texture.
Notes
- Use refrigerated biscuit dough for a quick, flaky crust without the hassle of making dough from scratch.
- Ensure the edges are tightly sealed to prevent filling leakage during baking.
- Substitute provolone cheese with mozzarella or Swiss for different flavor profiles.
- For a spicier kick, add a dash of horseradish sauce inside the filling before baking.
- Au jus gravy mix can be prepared ahead to save time before baking.
- Serve immediately for best texture and flavor; leftovers can be reheated but may lose some crispness.
