Ingredients
Scale
Sliders
- 1 package Hawaiian rolls (12-count, not separated)
- 6 large eggs, scrambled and cooked
- 6 slices cooked ham or cooked breakfast sausage patties
- 6 slices cheddar or American cheese
Glaze
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- ½ tsp Dijon mustard (optional for balance)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a baking dish to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Slice Rolls: Carefully slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally, keeping them connected as one unit. Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared baking dish as the base layer.
- Assemble Fillings: Layer the cooked scrambled eggs evenly over the bottom half of the rolls, followed by the cooked ham or breakfast sausage slices, and top with the cheddar or American cheese slices.
- Add Top Layer: Place the top half of the Hawaiian rolls over the layered fillings, enclosing the filling inside the sliders.
- Prepare and Apply Glaze: Mix the melted butter, maple syrup, and Dijon mustard (if using) until combined. Brush this glaze generously over the top of the rolls for a sweet and savory finish.
- Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes to warm through and melt the cheese.
- Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes, until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
- Slice and Serve: Once baked, slice the sliders individually and serve them warm for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- You can substitute the ham with cooked breakfast sausage patties for a different flavor.
- Keeping the rolls connected when slicing helps retain moisture and keeps sliders intact while baking.
- The Dijon mustard in the glaze is optional but adds a nice tangy balance to the sweetness of the maple syrup.
- Serve these sliders immediately for the best taste and gooey cheese texture.
- Leftovers can be reheated in the oven or microwave but may lose some crispness on top.
