Description

This Korean BBQ Rotisserie Chicken recipe gives store-bought rotisserie chicken a flavorful twist with a sweet and spicy Korean BBQ sauce. Perfect for a quick and delicious meal with a Korean-inspired flair.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 whole rotisserie chicken (skin on, about 3 to 4 pounds)
  • Korean BBQ Sauce:

    • 1/4 cup gochujang (Korean chili paste)
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
    • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
    • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
    • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
    • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
    • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions (sliced)
  • Steamed rice and kimchi for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or set your broiler to high.
  2. Prepare the BBQ Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together gochujang, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger until smooth.
  3. Coat the Chicken: Place the rotisserie chicken on a lined baking sheet and brush generously with the Korean BBQ sauce, covering all sides. Reserve a small amount of the sauce for serving.
  4. Bake or Broil: Bake for 10–15 minutes or broil for 5–7 minutes until the glaze is bubbling and slightly charred in spots.
  5. Rest and Serve: Remove from the oven, let it rest for a few minutes, carve the chicken, drizzle with reserved sauce, and sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve with steamed rice and kimchi if desired.

Notes

  • This is a great way to elevate store-bought rotisserie chicken.
  • For extra heat, add a dash of gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes) or sriracha to the sauce.
  • Can also be shredded and used in tacos, rice bowls, or lettuce wraps.
