A delicious Hot Honey Chicken Bowl recipe that combines tender chicken pieces coated in a sweet and spicy honey sauce with a variety of fresh ingredients served over rice. This easy-to-make dish is bursting with flavors and textures.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Hot Honey Sauce:

  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 12 tablespoons hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • pinch of chili flakes (optional for extra heat)

Other Ingredients:

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups cooked white or brown rice
  • 1 cup shredded red cabbage
  • 1 avocado (sliced)
  • 1/2 cup cucumber (sliced)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • lime wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Hot Honey Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, and chili flakes. Set aside.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet, season chicken with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned, then add the hot honey sauce and cook until thickened.
  3. Assemble the Bowls: Divide rice between bowls, top with hot honey chicken, cabbage, avocado, cucumber, cilantro, and sesame seeds. Serve with lime wedges.

Notes

  • Swap chicken thighs for chicken breast if preferred.
  • Add pickled red onions or roasted sweet potatoes for extra flavor and texture.
  • For meal prep, store components separately and assemble just before serving.
