Ingredients
Scale
Meat and Seasoning
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 2/3 cup water
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Wrap Components
- 6 large flour tortillas
- 6 small tostada shells
Toppings
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1/2 red onion, diced
- 1/4 cup jalapeños (optional)
Cooking
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking)
Instructions
- Cook the Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and break it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and no longer pink, then drain excess fat.
- Simmer with Seasoning: Stir in the taco seasoning and 2/3 cup water. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Heat Skillet for Cooking Wraps: In a separate skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat to prepare for cooking the Crunchwraps.
- Assemble the Crunchwraps: Lay one large flour tortilla flat. In the center, layer the seasoned beef, followed by one tostada shell, dollops of sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, diced tomato, diced red onion, and jalapeños if using.
- Fold the Tortilla: Carefully fold the edges of the tortilla inward over the filling, pinching and sealing the center to form a tightly wrapped circle.
- Cook the Crunchwrap: Place the wrap seam-side down on the hot skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottom is golden and crispy. Flip carefully and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes until crisp and heated through.
- Repeat and Serve: Repeat assembly and cooking with the remaining tortillas and ingredients. Slice each Crunchwrap Supreme in half and serve hot.
Notes
- Use a non-stick skillet for easier flipping and crisping without sticking.
- Adjust jalapeño quantity or omit for milder flavor.
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner meat option.
- Cheese can be swapped with Mexican blend or Monterey Jack for variation.
- Serve with salsa or guacamole for extra flavor.
