			Steak and Noodles
- 8 oz flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 8 oz egg noodles or ramen noodles, cooked according to package instructions
Sauce and Seasoning
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon honey
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
Garnish
- ¼ cup green onions, sliced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the Steak: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add the thinly sliced flank steak in a single layer and sear for 2-3 minutes until browned and just cooked through. Avoid overcrowding the pan—cook in batches if needed. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- Sauté the Garlic: In the same skillet with the steak drippings, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 30-60 seconds until fragrant but not browned. If desired, add the red pepper flakes and cook for another 15 seconds to release their heat.
- Prepare the Sauce: Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and honey to the skillet. Stir to combine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom. Season with salt and black pepper, and simmer for 1 minute until the sauce is slightly thickened.
- Toss Noodles and Steak: Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss well to coat them in the garlic butter sauce. Return the reserved steak slices and any accumulated juices to the pan. Gently toss everything together so the steak is coated evenly with the sauce.
- Final Heating and Garnish: Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring gently, until everything is heated through. Remove from heat and garnish generously with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if using. Serve immediately while hot for best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Slice the flank steak thinly against the grain for the most tender bites.
- Cooking the steak in batches prevents overcrowding and ensures proper searing.
- Use ramen noodles as a convenient alternative to egg noodles if preferred.
- Adjust red pepper flakes to control the level of heat or omit for a milder dish.
- For gluten-free adaptation, use gluten-free soy sauce and oyster sauce substitutes.
- Serve immediately to enjoy the noodles at their best texture.
