Description

A quick and flavorful Garlic Butter Shrimp and Rice Stack recipe featuring succulent shrimp sautéed in a garlic butter sauce, served atop perfectly molded portions of fluffy white rice. This dish is easy to prepare and perfect for a weeknight dinner or special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Shrimp and Sauce

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Rice and Garnish

  • 2 cups cooked white rice (or jasmine rice for extra flavor)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Cook the shrimp: Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the shrimp with salt and pepper, then cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Prepare the garlic butter sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of butter and the minced garlic. Sauté over medium heat for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, making sure not to burn the garlic. Stir in crushed red pepper flakes, if using, and lemon juice.
  3. Form rice stacks: Divide the cooked rice into four equal portions. Using a small bowl or round mold, press each portion down firmly to create compact stacks. Carefully invert each mold onto a serving plate and remove.
  4. Assemble the dish: Top each rice stack with the cooked shrimp. Spoon the garlic butter sauce evenly over the shrimp.
  5. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the stacks and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for extra brightness.

Notes

  • For more flavor, use jasmine rice instead of regular white rice.
  • Adjust the amount of crushed red pepper flakes to your spice preference.
  • Make sure not to overcook the shrimp, as they can become rubbery.
  • You can prepare the rice ahead of time to speed up cooking.
  • This dish is best served immediately to enjoy the garlic butter sauce at its freshest.
