Description

Delicious and easy-to-make salmon patties served with a tangy lemon-garlic sauce. These patties combine canned salmon with fresh herbs and spices, pan-fried to a golden brown perfection. Perfect for a quick dinner or as a tasty sandwich filling.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon Patties

  • 2 cans (14.75 ounces each) salmon, drained and flaked
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Lemon-Garlic Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare Salmon Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the drained and flaked salmon with breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, eggs, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, chopped fresh parsley, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated and the mixture holds together.
  2. Form Patties: Shape the salmon mixture into 8 evenly sized patties, ensuring they hold their shape to prevent breaking during cooking.
  3. Heat Oil and Cook Patties: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, place the patties in the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, or until they develop a golden brown crust and are heated through.
  4. Prepare Lemon-Garlic Sauce: While the patties cook, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl until smooth and creamy.
  5. Serve: Serve the salmon patties hot with the lemon-garlic sauce either drizzled on top or on the side for dipping. These patties also pair well with a side salad or on a sandwich with lettuce and tomato.

Notes

  • Fresh cooked salmon can be substituted for canned salmon if preferred.
  • These salmon patties make a delicious sandwich filling when paired with lettuce, tomato, and your favorite bread.
  • For a crispier texture, you can add a little more breadcrumbs to the mixture.
  • Adjust Old Bay seasoning according to your spice preference.
