Ingredients
Scale

- 8 ounces lo mein noodles (or spaghetti)
Sauce and Oils
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce (optional)
Vegetables & Aromatics
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (grated)
- 1 red bell pepper (sliced)
- 1 cup snap peas
- 1 cup carrots (julienned)
- 3 green onions (sliced)
- 2 cups cabbage (shredded, optional)
Garnish
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Cook Noodles: Cook the lo mein noodles according to package directions until al dente. Drain and toss them with 1 teaspoon of sesame oil to prevent sticking and set aside.
- Sauté Aromatics: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir-Fry Vegetables: Add sliced red bell pepper, snap peas, julienned carrots, and shredded cabbage to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until the vegetables are just tender-crisp but still vibrant and fresh.
- Combine Noodles and Sauces: Add the cooked noodles to the skillet along with soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, the remaining sesame oil, and chili garlic sauce if using. Toss everything thoroughly to evenly coat the noodles and heat through.
- Finish and Serve: Remove the skillet from heat. Sprinkle sliced green onions and sesame seeds on top for garnish. Serve the lo mein hot for best flavor and texture.
Notes
- You can add protein such as shrimp, chicken, or tofu to make this a complete meal.
- If lo mein noodles are unavailable, spaghetti or linguine make great substitutes.
- Adjust the amount of soy, oyster, and hoisin sauces to your preference for more sweetness, spice, or saltiness.
