Description

A quick and delicious Easy Canned Tuna Pasta recipe perfect for a light and satisfying meal. This dish combines al dente spaghetti with a flavorful tuna, garlic, and lemon sauce enhanced by fresh parsley, all ready in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 4 ounces uncooked spaghetti

Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (5 ounce) can tuna, drained (preferably packed in oil)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional

  • Freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • Lemon zest

Instructions

  1. Boil Pasta: Boil a salted pot of water and cook the spaghetti until al dente according to package directions. Use this time to prepare the other ingredients.
  2. Heat Garlic in Oil: When the pasta is near ready, heat olive oil in a small pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add Tuna and Flavorings: Stir in the drained tuna, lemon juice, and chopped parsley into the pan. Allow mixture to heat through gently.
  4. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Once pasta is cooked, reserve a couple tablespoons of pasta water and add it to the tuna sauce. Drain the spaghetti and toss it with the sauce to combine. Season with salt and pepper as needed.
  5. Serve: Optionally top the pasta with freshly grated parmesan cheese and lemon zest before serving for extra flavor.

Notes

  • Use tuna packed in oil for a richer flavor; you can substitute with tuna packed in water for a lighter option.
  • Reserve some pasta water to help bind the sauce and pasta together smoothly.
  • Adjust lemon juice and parsley amounts based on your taste preference.
  • Parmesan cheese and lemon zest add extra freshness but are optional.
  • This recipe yields 2 servings, easily doubled for more portions.
