Description

Enjoy the bold flavors of Dr. Pepper Jalapeno Beef Jerky with this easy homemade recipe. Tender beef slices marinated in Dr. Pepper and spices, with a kick of jalapeños for a spicy-sweet snack that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Jerky:

  • 2 pounds beef top round or flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 1 cup Dr. Pepper soda
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Additional Ingredients:

  • 2 jalapeños, thinly sliced (with seeds for extra heat)
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Beef: Place beef in a bag or dish. Mix Dr. Pepper, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, spices, jalapeños, and red pepper flakes. Pour over beef, refrigerate for at least 8 hours.
  2. Dehydrate the Jerky: Preheat dehydrator or oven. Pat dry beef, arrange on trays. Dry for 4-6 hours, flipping halfway, until dry yet pliable. Cool before storing.

Notes

  • For cleaner cuts, freeze beef before slicing.
  • Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks or freeze for longer shelf life.
