Description

This Crispy Cheddar Chicken recipe is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that combines tender chicken breasts with a crunchy cheddar and Ritz cracker coating. Perfect for a family dinner or special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup crushed Ritz crackers (about 24 crackers)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

For Garnish:

  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare the baking dish: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the coating stations: In a shallow bowl, pour the milk. In a second bowl, mix the crushed Ritz crackers, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In a third bowl, place the shredded cheddar cheese.
  3. Coat the chicken: Dip each chicken breast into the milk, then into the shredded cheese, pressing gently to help the cheese stick. Coat the chicken with the cracker mixture, pressing it on firmly.
  4. Bake the chicken: Place the coated chicken breasts into the prepared baking dish. Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the chicken. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake an additional 10–15 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the coating is golden and crispy.
  5. Garnish and serve: Garnish with chopped parsley if desired before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, broil the chicken for 2–3 minutes at the end of baking.
  • You can also use chicken tenders for a kid-friendly version with a shorter cook time.
