Ingredients
Scale
Chicken and Seasoning
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 (1 oz) packet ranch seasoning mix
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Sauce
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
Garnish (optional)
- Fresh parsley or chives, chopped
Instructions
- Prepare and cook the chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts evenly with half of the ranch seasoning mix and black pepper. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for 5–6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the ranch cream sauce: Lower the heat to low. In the same skillet, add the heavy cream, chicken broth, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and the remaining ranch seasoning. Stir continuously until the cream cheese melts completely and the sauce becomes smooth and thickened, approximately 3–5 minutes.
- Combine chicken and sauce: Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spoon the ranch cream sauce over the top, and let everything simmer together for 2–3 minutes until heated through.
- Garnish and serve: Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley or chives, if desired. Serve immediately over mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta for a hearty meal.
Notes
- Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta for a complete meal.
- For a lighter sauce, substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream.
- Use Greek yogurt in place of cream cheese to add protein and reduce fat.
- Double-check the ranch seasoning mix ingredients if following a gluten-free diet.
