Peanut Butter Sauce Ingredients
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1–2 teaspoons sriracha or chili garlic sauce (optional)
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
- 1/4 to 1/3 cup warm water (to thin to desired consistency)
Instructions
- Combine Base Ingredients. In a medium bowl, whisk together the creamy peanut butter, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey or maple syrup, sesame oil, sriracha (if using), minced garlic, and freshly grated ginger until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Adjust Consistency. Gradually whisk in warm water, adding it a little at a time, until the sauce reaches your preferred consistency—smooth and pourable for drizzling or thicker if you plan to use it as a dip.
- Taste and Season. Taste your peanut sauce and adjust the seasoning if needed, adding more sriracha for heat or honey/maple syrup for sweetness.
- Serve or Store. Use the sauce immediately with your favorite dishes or store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
Notes
- This sauce pairs wonderfully with rice bowls, noodles, grilled meats, or as a veggie dip.
- For a nut-free alternative, substitute creamy peanut butter with sunflower seed butter.
- Add a splash of fresh lime juice for extra brightness and tang.
