Ingredients
Scale
Pasta
- 200 g fettuccine pasta
Protein and Vegetables
- 250 g chicken breast, sliced
- 1 cup broccoli florets
Sauce
- 2 tbsp butter
- 200 ml heavy cream
- 50 g Parmesan cheese, grated
- Garlic, minced (1-2 cloves)
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Olive oil (about 1 tbsp for cooking chicken)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook until al dente according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain the pasta and set aside.
- Cook the chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Season the sliced chicken breast with salt and pepper. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the sauce: In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer.
- Finish the sauce: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and cook until the sauce thickens slightly. Add steamed broccoli florets and the cooked fettuccine pasta to the skillet. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated with the creamy sauce.
- Serve: Plate the creamy broccoli fettuccine Alfredo and top it with the cooked grilled chicken slices. Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
- To steam broccoli, place florets in a steamer basket over boiling water for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the best flavor and smoother sauce texture.
- For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or a milk and cream mixture.
- Ensure not to overcook the pasta; al dente texture helps maintain balance with the creamy sauce.
- You can add a pinch of nutmeg or crushed red pepper flakes to the sauce for added flavor complexity.
