			Base Ingredients
- 2 cans (15 oz each) whole kernel corn, drained
- 1 can (15 oz) creamed corn
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened and cubed
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, for a touch of sweetness)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Toppings and Garnish
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional for topping)
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Dish. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking and ensure easy serving.
- Mix Ingredients. In a large bowl, combine the drained whole kernel corn, creamed corn, softened and cubed cream cheese, melted butter, and milk. Add sugar if you’d like a touch of sweetness, then season with salt and black pepper. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Pour and Top. Pour the creamy corn mixture into the prepared baking dish. If desired, evenly sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top for a melty, flavorful crust.
- Bake. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly throughout and the top turns a golden brown color.
- Cool and Garnish. Carefully remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes. Before serving, garnish with chopped green onions for added color and a fresh bite, if desired.
Notes
- For extra crunch, consider adding crushed crackers or breadcrumbs on top before baking.
- You can substitute cream cheese with Neufchâtel cheese for a lower-fat version.
- Make sure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature to help it blend smoothly.
- This casserole pairs nicely with roasted meats and can be served as a decadent side or a standalone vegetarian main dish.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated for up to 3 days.
