Ingredients
Scale
For the Panna Cotta
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cold brew coffee
- 1 packet unflavored gelatin (about 2 1/4 teaspoons)
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Heat the Cream and Sugar: In a saucepan, combine heavy cream and sugar. Warm over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is hot but not boiling.
- Bloom the Gelatin: Sprinkle the unflavored gelatin evenly over 1/4 cup of cold water in a small bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes to absorb the water and soften, forming a gelatin bloom.
- Combine Ingredients: Add the bloomed gelatin and cold brew coffee to the warm cream mixture. Stir continuously until the gelatin is completely dissolved and the mixture is smooth and uniform.
- Pour and Chill: Pour the panna cotta mixture into ramekins or molds. Place them in the refrigerator and chill for at least 6 hours or until set firmly.
- Serve: To unmold, briefly dip the bottoms of the ramekins into warm water for a few seconds to loosen the panna cotta. Invert onto serving plates and enjoy.
Notes
- Use cold brew coffee for a smooth, concentrated coffee flavor without bitterness.
- Do not boil the cream mixture as it may affect the gelatin setting.
- Ensure the gelatin is fully dissolved to avoid grainy texture.
- You can garnish with cocoa powder, coffee beans, or whipped cream for extra flair.
- Once set, panna cotta can be refrigerated up to 2 days before serving.
