- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 3 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
- 2 tablespoons instant espresso powder or instant coffee granules
- 1 tablespoon hot water
- 1 tablespoon heavy cream or milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Dissolve Coffee: In a small bowl, dissolve the espresso powder in the hot water and set aside to cool slightly.
- Beat Butter: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
- Add Powdered Sugar: Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, beating well after each addition to incorporate fully.
- Combine Ingredients: Add the dissolved coffee mixture, vanilla extract, heavy cream, and salt to the butter and sugar mixture.
- Beat Until Smooth: Beat on medium-high speed for 2–3 minutes, until the frosting is smooth, fluffy, and spreadable.
- Adjust Consistency: If needed, add an extra tablespoon of cream to achieve the desired consistency for spreading or piping.

- For a stronger coffee flavor, add an extra teaspoon of espresso powder.
