Main Ingredients
- 10 vanilla Little Debbie Christmas tree cakes
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 12 oz almond bark or white chocolate candy melts
Decorations
- Red food coloring
- Green sanding sugar
Instructions
- Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the truffles from sticking.
- Crumble Cakes: In a mixing bowl, crumble the vanilla Christmas tree cakes into fine crumbs.
- Mix with Cream Cheese: Add the softened cream cheese to the cake crumbs and mix using a hand mixer until the mixture forms a dough-like consistency.
- Form Balls: Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon measure to form uniform balls, then place them on the prepared baking sheet. Freeze the balls for 30 minutes until firm.
- Melt Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the almond bark or white chocolate candy melts in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval until smooth.
- Dip Truffles: Remove the cake balls from the freezer one by one and dip each into the melted chocolate, tapping off any excess coating. Place back onto the baking sheet.
- Decorate: Drizzle red food coloring over each truffle and immediately sprinkle with green sanding sugar to create a festive look. Allow the chocolate to set before serving.
Notes
- Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened for easy mixing.
- If almond bark is not available, use good-quality white chocolate candy melts for coating.
- Work quickly when dipping truffles into melted chocolate to prevent melting or sticking.
- Store finished truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- These truffles can be frozen after coating for longer storage; thaw before serving.
