Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 60 snap pretzels
- 30 mini Snickers bars (9.7 ounce bag)
- 1 cup almond bark (about 4 squares)
Optional Garnishes
- ¼ cup crushed candy canes
- Festive sprinkles
Instructions
- Prepare Oven and Pan: Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for melting the candy bars.
- Assemble Base Layer: Arrange half of the snap pretzels evenly on the prepared sheet pan, then place one mini Snickers bar on top of each pretzel to form the base layer for the bites.
- Melt Snickers Bars: Bake the tray in the oven for 3-4 minutes until the chocolate begins to melt and the caramel inside softens, creating a sticky surface for the sandwich.
- Create Pretzel Sandwiches: Quickly remove from the oven and place the remaining pretzels on top of each melted Snickers bar, pressing gently to form sandwich bites with the candy in between two pretzels.
- Chill Pretzel Bites: Transfer the assembled bites to the freezer and chill for 15 minutes to help set the caramel and chocolate filling.
- Melt Almond Bark: Meanwhile, melt the almond bark using a double boiler or microwave until smooth and ready for dipping.
- Dip Pretzel Bites: Remove the chilled pretzel bites from the freezer and dip half of each bite into the melted almond bark to coat it in white chocolate.
- Add Garnishes: While the coating is still warm, sprinkle the dipped pretzel bites with crushed candy canes and/or festive sprinkles for a seasonal decorative touch.
- Set Coating: Place the decorated pretzel bites back on the parchment-lined sheet pan and allow the almond bark to set for 20-30 minutes at room temperature.
- Serve and Enjoy: Once set, transfer the pretzel bites to a serving plate and enjoy your festive homemade holiday treat.
Notes
- Use snap pretzels for a sturdy base that holds well with the melted candy.
- Be quick when adding the top pretzel to ensure the filling is still soft and sticky for proper adhesion.
- If almond bark is not available, white chocolate chips can be substituted.
- For easier melting, chop the almond bark into smaller pieces before melting.
- Store leftover bites in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerated for up to a week.
