  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour, heat-treated
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Frosting:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare pans: Preheat oven to 350°F and grease and flour three 8-inch cake pans.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream butter and sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add wet ingredients: Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the batter.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips: Fold in mini chocolate chips. Divide batter between pans and bake.
  6. Make cookie dough filling: Beat butter and sugars, add milk and vanilla, stir in flour, fold in chocolate chips.
