Ingredients
Scale
For the Chicken Wraps
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into strips
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 tomato, diced
- ½ red onion, thinly sliced
- ½ cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
For the Garlic Cream Sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the chicken strips with paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook the chicken for 5 to 6 minutes until golden brown and cooked through, then set aside.
- Prepare the Garlic Cream Sauce: In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Whisk in the flour and cook for another minute to form a roux. Gradually whisk in the heavy cream, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Allow the sauce to thicken for 2 to 3 minutes while stirring occasionally.
- Warm the Tortillas: Slightly warm the flour tortillas to make them pliable, either in a dry skillet or microwave for a few seconds.
- Assemble the Wraps: On each warm tortilla, layer shredded lettuce, diced tomato, thinly sliced red onion, the cooked chicken strips, and shredded cheese. Drizzle generously with the garlic cream sauce.
- Wrap and Serve: Fold the tortillas over the filling and roll tightly to form wraps. Serve immediately while warm and enjoy.
Notes
- You can use grilled chicken for a smokier flavor or swap in rotisserie chicken to save time.
- Add avocado slices or hot sauce for extra flavor and creaminess.
- The garlic cream sauce also works well as a dipping sauce for other dishes.
