			Chicken Mixture
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp Italian seasoning
Pasta and Sauce
- 12 oz pasta (penne or rotini recommended)
- 2 cups Alfredo sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup frozen peas (optional)
Cheese Topping
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
Garnish
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
- Cook the Pasta: Boil the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Once cooked, drain well and set aside to cool slightly.
- Sauté the Garlic: Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Cook the Chicken: Add the cooked chicken, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning to the skillet with the garlic. Cook for 2 minutes to warm up and allow the seasonings to meld with the chicken.
- Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, Alfredo sauce, sautéed chicken mixture, and frozen peas if using. Stir everything together until evenly mixed.
- Assemble the Casserole: Transfer the combined mixture into the prepared baking dish. Evenly sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheeses over the top.
- Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
- Serve: Remove the casserole from the oven and allow it to cool for 5 minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired, then serve warm.
Notes
- You can substitute rotini or penne pasta with any short pasta shape you prefer.
- For a healthier version, use a light Alfredo sauce or homemade low-fat alternative.
- Adding frozen peas is optional but adds a nice color and slight sweetness.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat gently in the microwave or oven to maintain creaminess and texture.
