For the Chicken:

  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup dill pickle juice
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 large egg

For the Coating:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

For Frying:

  • vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: Place chicken in a bowl, pour pickle juice over them, cover, and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  2. Prepare Coating: Whisk milk and egg in a bowl. In another bowl, mix flour, powdered sugar, paprika, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and baking powder.
  3. Coat Chicken: Drain chicken from pickle juice, dip in milk mixture, then coat with flour mixture.
  4. Fry: Heat oil, fry chicken in batches for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve: Enjoy warm with dipping sauce.

Notes

  • To make in the air fryer, spray nuggets with oil and air fry at 400°F for 8–10 minutes, shaking halfway through.
  • Nuggets freeze well—reheat in oven or air fryer.
