For the Chicken:
- 1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 cup dill pickle juice
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 large egg
For the Coating:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
For Frying:
- vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken: Place chicken in a bowl, pour pickle juice over them, cover, and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Prepare Coating: Whisk milk and egg in a bowl. In another bowl, mix flour, powdered sugar, paprika, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and baking powder.
- Coat Chicken: Drain chicken from pickle juice, dip in milk mixture, then coat with flour mixture.
- Fry: Heat oil, fry chicken in batches for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve: Enjoy warm with dipping sauce.
Notes
- To make in the air fryer, spray nuggets with oil and air fry at 400°F for 8–10 minutes, shaking halfway through.
- Nuggets freeze well—reheat in oven or air fryer.
