- 1/3 cup brown sugar (lightly packed)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter or coconut oil
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Add-Ins:
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts, seeds, or dried fruit (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Base: Line a baking pan with parchment paper. Mix oats and crispy rice cereal in a bowl.
- Make the Sweet Mixture: Combine honey, brown sugar, and butter in a saucepan. Stir until dissolved, then add vanilla and salt.
- Combine and Cool: Pour the sweet mixture over the dry ingredients. Stir, then mix in chocolate chips and optional add-ins.
- Form Bars: Press mixture into the pan, top with extra chocolate chips, and chill.
