Description

Delicious and easy-to-make cheesy chicken crescent rolls featuring a flavorful blend of shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, and green onions wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough. Perfect as a savory snack or appetizer, baked to golden perfection with a buttery finish.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 2 cups of cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 oz of cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup of green onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Dough and Topping

  • 1 tube of crescent roll dough (8 rolls)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s ready when the crescent rolls are prepared.
  2. Prepare the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, softened cream cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  3. Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough tube and separate it into 8 individual triangles for filling and rolling.
  4. Add Filling to Dough: Place a spoonful of the chicken mixture onto the wide end of each crescent dough triangle to ensure even distribution of filling.
  5. Roll Crescent Rolls: Starting from the wide end, carefully roll each triangle toward the point, sealing the filling inside the dough roll.
  6. Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place each crescent roll on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them to allow for expansion during baking.
  7. Brush with Butter: Brush the tops of the crescent rolls with melted butter to enhance browning and add flavor during baking.
  8. Bake: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until they turn golden brown and the cheese inside is fully melted.
  9. Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the rolls cool for a few minutes before serving warm to enjoy the melty cheesy filling and flaky crust.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add chopped fresh herbs such as parsley or chives to the filling mixture.
  • You can substitute cheddar cheese with mozzarella or pepper jack for different taste profiles.
  • If you prefer a spicier kick, add some red pepper flakes or diced jalapeños to the filling.
  • Make sure cream cheese is softened to room temperature for easier mixing.
  • Serve with dipping sauces like ranch, marinara, or honey mustard for additional flavor.
