Filling
- 2 cups of cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 8 oz of cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup of green onions, chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Dough and Topping
- 1 tube of crescent roll dough (8 rolls)
- 2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s ready when the crescent rolls are prepared.
- Prepare the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, softened cream cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough tube and separate it into 8 individual triangles for filling and rolling.
- Add Filling to Dough: Place a spoonful of the chicken mixture onto the wide end of each crescent dough triangle to ensure even distribution of filling.
- Roll Crescent Rolls: Starting from the wide end, carefully roll each triangle toward the point, sealing the filling inside the dough roll.
- Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place each crescent roll on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them to allow for expansion during baking.
- Brush with Butter: Brush the tops of the crescent rolls with melted butter to enhance browning and add flavor during baking.
- Bake: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until they turn golden brown and the cheese inside is fully melted.
- Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the rolls cool for a few minutes before serving warm to enjoy the melty cheesy filling and flaky crust.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add chopped fresh herbs such as parsley or chives to the filling mixture.
- You can substitute cheddar cheese with mozzarella or pepper jack for different taste profiles.
- If you prefer a spicier kick, add some red pepper flakes or diced jalapeños to the filling.
- Make sure cream cheese is softened to room temperature for easier mixing.
- Serve with dipping sauces like ranch, marinara, or honey mustard for additional flavor.
