Ingredients
Scale
Pinwheel Filling
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 ounce packet ranch seasoning mix
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup finely chopped green onions
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup chopped cooked bacon (optional)
Wrap
- 4 large flour tortillas (10-inch size)
Instructions
- Prepare the filling: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and ranch seasoning mix. Stir until the mixture is smooth and thoroughly blended to create a creamy base.
- Add cheese and vegetables: Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese, finely chopped green onions, black pepper, and cooked bacon if using, ensuring all ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
- Spread filling on tortillas: Lay the four flour tortillas flat on a clean surface. Evenly spread approximately one-quarter of the filling over each tortilla, covering the surface completely to the edges for uniform flavor in every bite.
- Roll the tortillas: Starting from one side, tightly roll each tortilla into a log shape. Place each rolled tortilla seam-side down to prevent unrolling.
- Chill to firm up: Wrap each rolled tortilla securely in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the filling to set and make slicing easier.
- Slice into pinwheels: Once chilled, unwrap the rolls and, using a sharp knife, slice each roll into 1-inch thick pinwheels. Arrange the pinwheels on a serving platter.
- Serve: Serve the pinwheels cold as a flavorful appetizer or snack perfect for gatherings and parties.
Notes
- These pinwheels can be made up to a day ahead; keep wrapped tightly and refrigerated until ready to serve.
- For a spicy twist, substitute cheddar cheese with pepper jack cheese.
- Add chopped fresh spinach or other greens to the filling for extra color and texture.
- Omit bacon to make the recipe vegetarian-friendly.
