			Proteins
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
Vegetables
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
Sauces and Oils
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
Seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Serving
- Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)
Instructions
- Preparation: Peel and devein the shrimp. Wash the broccoli florets thoroughly and slice the red bell pepper into thin strips for even cooking.
- Heat Oil: In a large pan or wok, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers, ensuring it’s hot enough for stir frying.
- Sauté Aromatics: Add the minced garlic and ginger to the hot oil, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned to build the base flavor.
- Cook Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the pan and set aside to prevent overcooking.
- Stir Fry Vegetables: In the same pan, add broccoli and sliced red bell pepper. Stir fry for 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are crisp-tender but still vibrant in color.
- Combine Ingredients: Return the cooked shrimp to the pan with the vegetables, mixing them together evenly.
- Add Sauces: Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and sesame oil. Stir thoroughly and cook for another 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the sauce to slightly thicken.
- Season: Taste the dish and season with salt and pepper as needed, adjusting to personal preference.
- Serve: Remove the stir fry from heat and serve immediately over cooked rice or noodles for a delicious and wholesome meal.
Notes
- Oyster sauce is optional but adds depth and a slight sweetness to the dish.
- Use fresh shrimp for the best texture and flavor; frozen shrimp should be fully thawed before cooking.
- Adjust vegetable cooking time to maintain desired crispness.
- For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes or chili paste during the sauce addition step.
- Ensure the pan or wok is sufficiently hot before stir frying to achieve that classic stir fry texture.
