  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil (like avocado or canola)

Peanut Sauce:

  • 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 24 tablespoons warm water (to thin sauce)

Garnish:

  • Chopped green onions
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prep tofu: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Toss pressed and cubed tofu with cornstarch, soy sauce, sesame oil, and neutral oil.
  2. Bake tofu: Arrange tofu on the baking sheet and bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and crispy, flipping halfway through.
  3. Make peanut sauce: Whisk together peanut butter, soy sauce, rice vinegar, maple syrup, ginger, garlic, and warm water until smooth.
  4. Coat tofu: Toss baked tofu with peanut sauce until coated.
  5. Serve: Serve tofu topped with green onions and sesame seeds.
