Flowers, flowers and more flowers…. For lesson 3 you will basically be learning how to make a few more blooms out of royal icing for your final cake.
The first new flower is the Victorian Rose. It is very similar to the rose you learned in course 1. The real difference is in the petals. The Victorian Rose has petals that are more curved. For this rose, you will still follow the 3, 5, 7 petal pattern. You will use tip 12 for making the base and tip 97 for forming the petals.
Let’s move on to the daffodil – This is one of my favorite flowers to make. You will be using the daffodil template, flower nail and tips 104, 3 and 1 for this flower. You may also sub a tip 2 for the tip 1 if you are using thicker icing. Form your petals using your tip 104. Once you have made your 6 petals, gently take your fingers and pinch the ends to form the points. Now take your tip 3 and make an inverted cone. Finally, take your tip one or two and make a zig zag pattern around the edge of your cone. Now you have a beautiful daffodil. You can also add some shimmer dust to this flower.
