For the diamond or quilted pattern on this cake cake I used the small diamond quilting marker made by Creative Cutters.  Then I used the Wilton embossing wheel to go over the markings.  This helped add a little bit of texture to the lines.

To The Leftover Queen: Thank you very much! The bride and groom were on a tight budget so we actually opted to make the top two tiers as well as a portion of the bottom tier out of foam. This way they got the elegance of a tall, beautiful wedding cake without the hefty budget. I inserted a piece of my chocolate, chocolate chip cake with chocolate buttercream frosting in part of the bottom tier. The whole cake is covered in vanilla and chocolate fondant on the exterior. They loved it! Thanks so much for reading and on a side note….. I love your blog! I read it all the time :)

YAY, am stoked to see our wedding cake made your blog!!!!

I cannot tell you again how many people (including us) absolutely LOVED the cake. We didn’t tell everyone our “foam secret” — but those who did know could not believe their eyes! You’re a genius!

I can’t wait for the next occasion that requires a cake, or cupcakes!

Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart! oxxo
